With a background in molecular biology and chemistry, as well as experiences from the European Commission, Swedish authorities and the life science industry, Bobby Arash has developed a deep understanding of regulatory landscapes impacting business innovation, product development, production processes and supply chains.

Bobby regularly represents Swedish and foreign clients in administrative litigation and procedures and enforcement actions.

Bobby is particularly focused in science-based legal fields, including EU Law, Environmental Law, EHS, Administrative Law and Procedures and Data Protection. He regularly represents businesses and defends products before EU and national courts and regulatory bodies.

Assignments/Publications, etc

• Represented several clients in a class action before the Swedish Chancelor of Justice in a case concerning a national authority’s breach of EU law and good administrative practices, specifically the authority’s delay in concluding scientific assessments and approval of regulated products.
• Successfully defended a client before the Land and Environment Court of Appeal in Sweden, against a local municipal ’s decision on environmental permit. The case was a significant ruling in promotion of circular economy by establishing that recovery and reuse of process chemicals as fuel constitute “energy recycling”.
• Representing clients, before the Swedish Land and Environmental Courts, on administrative appeal procedures related to national application and implementation of EU’s Biocidal Products Regulation (EU) 528/2012.
• Successfully representing a client before the European Chemical Agency’s Board of Appeal in a series of appeal cases related to participation of food products in the European Commission’s review programme on active substances set out in the EU’s Biocidal Products Regulation (EU) 528/2012.
• Representing clients, before the Swedish administrative courts, against national enforcement authorities on matters related to national implementation of EU’s general food law and CAP.
